The Candy AI image generator isn’t a tool for pictures of sweets: it creates images of Candy’s AI characters, and of the characters you design, from a short description. A free account includes 1 image; after that, generating needs Premium (from $3.99 a month, as of September 2026) and each picture is paid with tokens.

Two ways to use the Candy AI image generator
Generate Image, from the menu
A dedicated tool in Candy’s main menu: choose the character, describe the scene and generate. Best when you want control over the picture: pose, outfit, setting and light.
Inside a chat
Premium members can switch on the in-chat image toggle and ask the character for a picture in the middle of a conversation. Best when the image belongs to the story you’re already in.
Both routes draw on the same token balance, and both work with Candy’s premade companions as well as with characters you design yourself.
Prompt tips that get better images
Candy’s help center gives three pieces of advice (Candy help center, “Best results when generating images”, Jul 2026): be descriptive, state the purpose of the image and ask for specific poses. Here’s how that looks in practice, with our own examples.
Step 1: Describe what you want to see
Hair, outfit, setting, light and mood. Vague: “Woman at a bar.” Better: “Woman with long auburn hair in a green satin dress at a rooftop bar at dusk, city lights behind her, warm cinematic light.”
Step 2: Say what the picture is for
A profile photo, a travel snapshot, a scene from your story: stating the purpose helps the framing. Example: “Profile photo, head and shoulders, soft window light, relaxed smile.”
Step 3: Ask for one clear pose or angle
One pose, one camera angle. Example: “Seated on a velvet sofa, looking over her shoulder, three-quarter view.”
Step 4: Keep to one idea per image
Several people, props and actions in one prompt are where results fall apart. Build the scene in steps instead.
Step 5: Reuse the same words for the same character
Keep a short description (hair, eyes, signature outfit) and paste it into every prompt. It helps, even though exact consistency isn’t guaranteed.
What the generator still struggles with
Candy is upfront about two weak spots in its help articles: complex prompts, and exact consistency from one image to the next. In practice, crowded scenes and detailed interactions between several characters are the prompts most likely to miss, and the same character can look slightly different each time.
When a result misses, simplify rather than add detail: cut the prompt back to one subject, one pose and one setting, then regenerate. Every attempt uses tokens, so test an idea in its simplest form first.
Where your images are saved
Your images stay in your Candy account. The Collection section of Candy’s menu is where your saved content lives, so look there first; videos made with Build Your Video land in My Generations instead. Sign in with the same account on another device and your images are there too.
Turning an image into a video
An image can be the first frame of a clip. Candy’s image-to-video feature turns a picture you’ve generated into a short animated clip, paid with tokens (Candy help center, “Can I generate AI Videos?”, Mar 7, 2026). What you may do with the images
Candy’s help center says generated content is for personal use only and may not be used commercially (Candy help center, Mar 7, 2026). That rules out selling images, using them in ads or to promote a product, and passing them off as photos of real people. Keep them for your chats and your collection.

Is the Candy AI image generator free?
Only for one image. A free Candy account includes 1 generated image, along with up to 5 chat messages and 1 custom character (Candy help center, “What can I do as a free user?”, Aug 5, 2026). After that, image generation needs Premium, from $3.99 a month on the 12-month plan as of September 2026, and each image is paid with tokens.
How many tokens does an image cost?
Candy doesn't publish a per-image token price on its plans page, and we haven't verified a current figure, so we won't guess. The easy check: note your balance, generate one image and look again. Premium includes 100 tokens a month; at plan prices a token is worth about $0.04 (12-month plan) to $0.14 (1-month plan).
How do I get better images?
Be specific: hair, outfit, setting, light and mood. Say what the image is for, ask for one clear pose or angle, and keep to one idea per image. Candy's help center notes that complex prompts and exact consistency between images are hard, so simplify and regenerate when a result misses instead of piling on more detail.
Can I turn an image into a video?
Yes. Candy's image-to-video feature animates an image you've generated into a short clip, and it's paid with tokens. It isn't a free-form text-to-video tool: you start from the image. Candy also offers Build Your Video, which assembles a clip from presets, and interactive Live Action scenes with select characters.
Where are my images saved?
In your Candy account. Look in the Collection section of Candy's menu for your saved content; videos made with Build Your Video go to My Generations instead. Nothing you generate is shared with this site. If you use Candy on more than one device, sign in with the same account to see your images everywhere.
